Initiating a Drift
Tap just before the curve begins. The car starts turning, and holding the tap maintains the drift angle. The longer you hold, the tighter the turn but the more speed you lose.
Speed Maintenance
Release the tap slightly before the curve ends to accelerate out. This early release preserves momentum and is the difference between good and great lap times.
Vehicle Selection
Lightweight cars drift more easily but have less grip on straight sections. Heavy cars grip well but require earlier tap timing to initiate drifts. Match vehicle to track type.
